Coworker swore that spraying water on the concrete before pouring would prevent cracking
I tried it on a small patio job last summer and now there's hairline cracks everywhere. Has anyone else gotten bad advice from a guy who's been doing it "20 years"?

Yeah don't take advice from that guy again. Water on concrete before pouring just makes it weak and crumbly.

Throw in a layer of crushed stone under the slab first @mason.margaret and water wont pool as much to wreck the concrete.
