TIL a 7 degree temp drop during a pour will wreck your whole day
Had a 24x30 slab pour set for 6am last Tuesday and the weather app said 58 and sunny so I figured we were fine. By the time the truck showed up it had dropped to 51 and that mix started setting up way faster than I planned for. We lost the last third of the slab to cold joints and had to chip it out and repour a whole section, which cost me about $800 in material and a lost day. Anybody else got a hard rule for when to call off a pour, or do you just eat the cost and hope the finishers can keep up?
