Rant: Old timer on my crew said to wet cure a driveway in Tucson in July, I figured he was messing with me
We poured a 24 by 30 slab in Tucson last month and it was 108 degrees out. He told me to keep it soaked for 7 days and I laughed because I thought that was a waste of a water truck. Fast forward 3 days and the control joints started spider cracking while the wet side looked like glass. He just stood there with his coffee and said "that's why I told you, kid." Now I'm a believer, so how long do you all cure in that kind of heat?
Did you keep it shaded too or just wet? In that kind of heat I've had good luck soaking it down every couple hours the first day, then burlap over the top kept wet for a week, and it held up with no cracks. The water truck hurts less than cutting out and repouring a slab.
