Poured a 12x14 slab in Tulsa on Friday and got rained out before I could cut it
So I poured this 12 by 14 slab for a guy's shed in Tulsa on Friday morning, mix was nice, finished it out clean and it looked great. Weather app said zero percent rain until 6pm so I figured I had plenty of time to let it set and come back for the cuts. Around 1:30 a storm rolls in outta nowhere, dumped on it for maybe 20 minutes. I threw plastic over what I could but the edges already got spotted up and the surface took on water in a couple low spots. Next morning I go to cut and it's already got two hairline cracks running off the corner where the water pooled. I cut it anyway about 18 hours late but I'm not sure I saved it. Shoulda cut it greener that same afternoon or used a quicker set mix. Now the homeowner is asking about the cracks and I said they're shrinkage cracks but I feel like hell about it. Do you all cut as soon as it's walkable or wait for it to cure more?
A 20 minute downpour showing up out of nowhere when the app says zero percent is wild. I'd be sick about those corner cracks too, but at least you doc.u.mented the timeline in case the homeowner gets weird about it.
