Man, that reminds me of a guy on my crew who got run off a job in Phoenix for the same thing, said the foreman just didn't like his face. Half the time these calls come down to who's watching and how their day is going, not the actual mud. Sorry you got the boot over it, sounds like the GC was just looking for someone to blame.
