Appreciation post: my dad's 40 year old magnesium float is still my go-to on slabs
Last weekend I poured a 24x30 garage slab in Springfield and grabbed my dad's old magnesium float out of the trailer like always. He bought it back in 1984 and it's still dead flat, while my third cheap float in 2 years already warped on me. Something about how the old ones were cast just holds up better, and it leaves a nicer finish on the cream too. Curious what old hand tools you guys refuse to retire, and where you found them.
