Walked into a Best Buy in Springfield and their demo laptops were a total mess
Every single one had like 20 browser tabs open, random toolbars, and the fans were screaming. One of the HP Pavilion models was so hot you could feel it from a foot away. How are people supposed to trust us to fix their stuff when the store shows them this is normal? What's the worst 'tech demo' fail you've seen?

Honestly, is it that big of a deal? Those demo units run all day and people click on everything. It's not like a normal person uses their laptop that way. The store just wants to show the screen, not how it runs after months. It's a bad look but it doesn't mean the tech itself is broken.

But what if that's exactly the customer's takeaway? They see a hot, slow mess and think, "If this is brand new, what will mine look like in a year?" It sets a low bar for performance expectations right from the start. A clean demo unit at least shows the potential of the machine.
