Vent: client wanted a 2 hour backup server, I built a 30 minute one on purpose
Last month a shop in Austin asked me to spec a backup server for 12 workstations, and I quoted them $4,800 for a RAID setup with a proper UPS. Their IT guy pushed back and insisted a single 2TB drive with a cheap power strip was fine, so now I'm stuck deciding if I walk away or let them learn the hard way. Has anyone else had a client overrule your professional call and then blame you when it fails?

Walk away... let that IT guy own it when the drive dies and they lose everything. Not your problem if they ignore the quote.
