A guy at the shop in Tempe showed me he uses a plastic scraper and a coffee filter first, then a tiny bit of 99 percent isopropyl on a lint free wipe, not the 70 percent stuff from Walgreens I'd been soaking cotton swabs in since 2013. The 70 percent has too much water in it and the cotton fibers were getting stuck under the IHS edge on AM4 chips. Been using his method for 3 months now on about 40 rebuilds and the temps are coming in 4 to 6 degrees cooler on average. What are you all using to get the dried stuff off without scratching the lid?
