Three dead drives in one week, all the same brand, all six months old

Last month I pulled three drives from customer machines in Austin, all a specific model line, all under warranty. Each one died with the same clicking sound and zero warning. I checked the serial batches and they were all made in the same 2 week window. Started asking around and another shop in Round Rock said they had four fail the same way. Has anyone else seen a bad production run like this, or did I just get unlucky with three separate units?
