Spent $180 on a fancy thermal camera for finding hot spots in walls. Worth every penny or waste? I'll tell you.

I dropped $180 on a Seek Thermal camera last month after chasing a weird electrical heat issue in a client's home office. Turned out the breaker was loose behind the drywall, not even a visible problem until the camera lit it up like a Christmas tree. Saved me from ripping open the whole wall and guessing. Anyone else use one of these for residential troubleshooting or did I just get lucky?

$180 just to find a loose breaker? That's WILD luck honestly.

That $180 callout fee really stings when it turns out to be something simple like a loose breaker... What did the electrician actually do after he found it though? Like did he just tighten the screw and leave, or did he at least check the panel for any other loose connections while he was there? Seems like a 5 minute job with a screwdriver once you know the problem, but I get that you're paying for the knowledge and the truck roll more than the actual fix.
