Had a client at DataTech Solutions prove me wrong about thermal paste yesterday
I was swapping a PSU in an old Dell Optiplex at the shop and this guy walks in with a custom build he said was crashing for months. I told him it was probably the PSU again but he insisted I check the CPU thermal paste first. Sure enough it was dried up like a cracker from 2019, replaced it with a $7 tube of Arctic MX-4 and the system ran 20 degrees cooler. Has anyone else had a customer turn out to be right about something you assumed was a waste of time?

Ran 20 degrees cooler" okay but was it actually crashing from that or just your usual Dell being a Dell?
