Do we charge for the 20 minute 'quick look' or eat it?

I had a client last month get mad when I quoted $50 to check their machine, said it's a 2 minute job to scan for malware, I do it for free. On the flip side I had a business pay $150 without blinking for the same scan just because I put 'diagnostic assessment' on the invoice. Has anyone else found that pricing the time builds trust vs losing the sale?

Buddy of mine in IT charges $75 for any house call, even if it takes two minutes. One lady paid it and then asked him to show her how to change her password while he was there. He said the paid ones always ask for more, the free ones just take and take.
