Changed my mind on thermal paste after a $6 tube saved a client's Dell
I used to be the guy who said any paste works and the pre-applied stuff on stock coolers is fine, so I never kept good paste in my bag. Last week a client's XPS 15 in Tucson was hitting 99C and shutting down during video calls, and I had a $6 tube of Arctic MX-4 in my kit from some old order. Repasted it, dropped 22 degrees, and the fan doesn't even spin up on Zoom now. What's the paste you actually keep in your bag, or am I late to this?
