Pro tip: verify the setting on shared tile cutters before starting a glass project

I was building a mosaic tray (got the idea from a DIY blog, of course). Borrowed the tile cutter from our tool library, all excited. Didn't realize it was set for thick ceramic, not my thin glass tiles. The first cut sounded like a popcorn machine gone wrong (my cat bolted under the couch). Now I have a messy tray that's kinda cool, actually.

That "popcorn machine gone wrong" sound is the universal sign of a craft project taking a sudden left turn. At least you invented a new, very chaotic mosaic style. Your cat's review was probably the most honest feedback you'll get. Modern art is basically just happy little accidents anyway.

Oh wow, my last craft attempt sounded like a bag of chips getting sat on. I tried to make a vase from old plates. Glue exploded everywhere. My dog just stared at me like I broke the universe. That chaotic mosaic style? I invented it by accident when the pieces flew off the table. Modern art is just me trying to clean up before anyone sees.
