Pro tip: check your blade sharpening schedule before spring rush

Ran the community library's lawn mower sharpening station for 2 years now. Last April we had 14 blades come back dull within a week, folks complaining about ragged cuts. I started logging every sharpening in a notebook, date and mower model. Turns out the old schedule of every 3 months missed the real wear pattern, most blades need it after 8 to 10 hours of heavy use. We switched to a use-based tracker and now blades stay good through the whole season. Anyone else tracking usage hours instead of calendar days, or is that overkill for a small library?

Tracked ours by hours after the same problem. Taped a little counter on the mower handle and it fixed everything, no more guessing.
