Chat with a retired carpenter at the tool library yesterday made me think twice about how I store stuff

He said he never keeps his chisels in a drawer because moisture settles down there and it'll dull them faster than using them - is that just old guy wisdom or is there real truth to it?

Nodding along with that old timer cause he's absolutely right. Moisture sinks down low in drawers and settles right on your tools. Even if you dont see rust forming, that dampness will definitely mess with the edge on your chisels. I keep all my cutting tools up on a magnetic strip or in a rack where air can move around them.
