Spent $40 on a community hall rental for a neighborhood meeting

It felt like a waste at first, but having a real space got twice as many people to show up and actually talk. Anyone have a cheaper idea that still gets folks in the door?

Actually, the original post says it felt like a waste at first, but then it worked.

Maybe it's just me but that $40 sounds like money well spent.
