Put $300 into a Kirby vacuum and it paid for itself in two years

I bought a used Kirby vacuum off Facebook Marketplace for $300 and honestly thought it was a waste at first. But now after two years of daily use around my dive gear and apartment, that thing has never clogged or broken down. The guys at the dive shop laughed at me for spending that much on a vacuum, but it pulls water and sand out of everything without dying. Has anyone else found a weird piece of gear that just keeps going?

Three hundred bucks for a glorified shop vac is just paying for a brand name, not actual performance.

Wait, doesn't your three-hundred-dollar bill also pay for that fancy branding and the cool-looking plastic shroud? It's like buying a designer handbag that also happens to double as a trash can. But hey, at least you'll look good while you're sucking up sawdust.
