I thought those new heated dive hoods were just a gimmick for cold water jobs
We had a long inspection on a bridge in Portland last winter, and my buddy brought one from a brand called Arctic Seal. I figured it was extra gear to fail, but after an hour in 38-degree water, my hands were numb while his were fine. He let me try it for the last thirty minutes, and the difference was real, like having a tiny heater right on your head. Anyone run these on regular cold jobs, or do they break down too fast?

Yeah, 38 degrees is no joke... but that's the whole point, right? If your core gets cold, everything goes downhill fast. So when you say the difference was real, was it just your hands that warmed up, or did you feel less cold overall? Like, did it actually help keep your whole body from getting that deep chill?
