Hot take: I think OVER-RELIANCE on dive computers is making us LAZY divers
Had a moment fixing my car where I realized I forgot how to read a manual. Now I ALWAYS bring a backup slate for notes down there.

Forgot how to read an analog depth gauge last trip. My computer beeped and I just stared at it like a confused golden retriever. We're letting a piece of plastic do all the thinking for us. Same thing happened with my car's GPS. Total blank on reading a map now. Bring the backup slate, but might need to practice basic math again too.

Ever try relearning those skills on purpose? I used to think it didn't matter, but your depth gauge story actually changed my mind.
