Warning: I passed on the $8 bin at a garage sale in Fresno and I'm still thinking about it a month later
So about a month ago I hit a garage sale off Cedar Ave in Fresno and the guy had two long boxes marked $8 each. One box was all 90s X-Men stuff and the other was a random mix of indie books I didn't recognize. I stood there for like 20 minutes trying to decide if I should grab both or just the X-Men box, and I ended up only taking the X-Men one since I knew those characters. Big mistake. I got home and flipped through my box and it was fine, nothing crazy, maybe $40 worth of books I actually wanted. But I kept wondering about that other box. Went back the next weekend and the guy said some lady bought it an hour after I left. He told me it had a full run of some small press series from the 80s and a couple signed issues. I have no idea if that's true or if he was just messing with me, but it's been bugging me for weeks. Lesson learned I guess, when the price is that low just grab both boxes and sort it out later, your wallet won't even feel it. Has anyone else walked away from a cheap long box and regretted it later?

Watched my buddy do almost the exact same thing at an estate sale in Clovis. He grabbed one box of Spider-Man books for $10 and left a box of old horror comics behind cause the covers looked beat up. Turns out the horror box had a bunch of early Warren stuff like Creepy and Eerie, and some guy snagged it right after for ten bucks. He still brings it up like twice a year at this point. Now he has a rule where if a long box is under $20 he just buys it, no thinking.
