Thought pour-over was just hype until a guy at a roast in Portland handed me a cup
I used to think pour-over was all fuss with no payoff, so I stuck to my drip machine for about two months after a coworker kept pushing it. Then at a small tasting in Portland this guy behind the counter brewed me a cup with a gooseneck kettle, pouring slow circles for maybe three minutes, and the flavor hit me in a way my drip never has. The smell alone was different, more like fruit than burnt toast. Now I'm trying to figure out if it was the method or just fresher beans, so anyone here actually taste a real difference after switching?
