Vent: an instructor told me my variable names were trash and it took me 2 weeks to admit she was right
Back in my first Python class at the community center in Tulsa, I named everything stuff, thing1, and data2 because I figured the computer did not care. My instructor looked at my script for about 10 seconds and said, "I have no idea what half of this does and I wrote the assignment." I was annoyed for two whole weeks, but then I went back to that same file and could not remember what data2 even held. Now I name stuff like total_hours and unpaid_invoice, and I can actually read my own code from last month. Does anyone else have an old project they are scared to open because of names like x and temp?
