Learning to use a debugger ruined print statements for me

My first mentor laughed at me for using console.log everywhere and said step into the debugger for 5 minutes, and after 3 days of fighting with breakpoints I now can't go back to print debugging because it actually shows me the state of each variable, so has anyone else had that moment where a tool you avoided turned out to be way better?

Wait, did you really spend 3 days fighting with breakpoints? That's dedication. Once I got past that first week of frustration, the debugger clicked for me too and I stopped feeling bad about ditching print statements.

You mean you didn't drop kick your laptop across the room at least once? Debuggers are brutal until they suddenly aren't, but once you get past the initial hate, watching variables update in real time is way more satisfying than digging through a wall of text.
