Update: The $6 Harbor Freight pick set got my 1966 Mustang door latch unstuck after 3 hours of swearing
My driver's door latch on the '66 has been sticking for months and I was about to pull the whole door panel off to replace it. My neighbor Dale, who restores old trucks in his backyard in Akron, told me to stop overthinking it and try a thin pick to clean out the old dried grease in the latch mechanism first. I sprayed some PB Blaster in there, worked a $6 pick set through the guts, and the latch popped free in about 10 minutes. Has anyone else had luck cleaning a sticky latch instead of swapping parts, or did yours just come back a month later?
