My grandma's dish soap advice finally clicked after 11 years
She always said to hand wash mugs with chips, that the dishwasher makes it worse. I ignored her for years. Ran my favorite camp mug through the machine weekly. Crack got longer every time. 11 years later I tried her method. Still has the chip but it stopped spreading. Anyone else have a chip that grew before you switched to hand washing?

I used to roll my eyes at stuff like that, thought it was just old people being stubborn about new things. Then my mom kept telling me to stop putting my grandpa's old coffee cups in the dishwasher and I never listened. The glaze on those things got so scratched up and cloudy over like two years. One cup had a tiny crack near the handle that turned into a full on break. Now I wash them all by hand and yeah, the crack on the one cup hasn't moved in months. Kinda hate that she was right but here we are.
