The number of folks who skip checking for birds before a sweep is wild

Found a nest with three eggs in a flue last week, job got delayed two days. How do you guys handle that call with the homeowner?

Man, that's a classic. I usually just show them the nest and explain the law, plain and simple. In my experience, being honest about the delay and why it's needed works best. Most folks are pretty understanding once they see the eggs. I've only had one guy get really grumpy about it, and honestly, that job wasn't worth the hassle anyway. You just have to roll with it, it's part of the gig.

Yeah, that's usually the way to go, @jesse_craig22. Just a heads up though, showing the nest can sometimes be considered disturbing it, depending on the species. I usually point from a distance to be safe.
