Duct tape on the brush head fixed my stuck damper in 10 minutes

Last Tuesday in Akron, I had a customer whose damper was seized so bad I almost called it a repipe job. I wrapped two layers of duct tape around the brush head to give it extra grip, tapped it against the damper edge, and it broke free on the third try. Anyone else got a weird field fix that saved you from a full teardown?
