Pro tip: $3 Tuesday bowling at the alley on Grand Ave killed our usual $40 dinner date
My girlfriend and I were about to drop $40 on dinner at that new taco spot on Grand Ave when we saw the bowling alley next door had $3 games on Tuesdays. We split one order of nachos for $6, bowled three games each, and the whole night came to $19 total. The shoes were free because we brought our own socks and the guy at the counter said Tuesday is always dead so we had lane 7 to ourselves. We're going back next week with two other couples since it's cheaper than one round of drinks downtown. Anyone else got a spot like this where the cheap night beat the fancy one?

Check with the counter guy before you book a big group. Ours said Tuesday is dead so six people would still fit, but weekends need a call ahead and the rate jumps. Group rates usually start at like ten people and that is way more than two couples. Just ask next time you are there, it takes ten seconds. Cheap nights like this only stay cheap if you know the rules before you show up with eight friends.
