Hot take: the $3 library museum pass trick saved our anniversary
My girlfriend and I wanted to do something for our 3 year anniversary but we were broke after a car repair ate $600 of our savings. I found out our city library in Portland lets you check out free or cheap passes to local museums, so we grabbed one for the art museum and paid nothing. We spent the afternoon there, walked to a taco truck after, and the whole day cost us $11. I had no idea libraries did this until a coworker mentioned it last month. Has anyone used these passes for other stuff like the zoo or science center?
The "library museum pass trick" is seriously underrated. We used ours for the zoo last summer and it was half off, which for a family of four adds up fast. The science center too, they had a deal where kids got in free with the adult pass. Just check your library's website because not every branch has the same ones (ours only does museums and the zoo, no aquarium sadly).
