OSB rows reveal a 3/8 inch hump, leveling compound fixed it in one pass
Measured a subfloor in an old rancher near Tacoma last Tuesday and found a hidden dip under the staples. Poured leveler across that section and the carpet laid flat for the first time in 30 years. Anyone else ever chase a hump that turned out to be a patch of plywood?

My buddy Dave hit this same thing out in Spanaway back in 2018. He spent a whole weekend ripping up carpet in a rental he was flipping, found a 4 foot square of 1/2 inch plywood under the pad that was sitting proud of the OSB by a solid quarter inch. Someone had screwed it down over an old duct hole and never bothered to sand the edges. He tried grinding it flat with a belt sander for about two hours, made a mess, then finally just poured self leveler over the whole living room and called it a day. Looked perfect after. He still bitches about that patch job every time we drink beer in his garage.
