My old knee pads were killing me until I switched to a gel insert style
I was on a big job in Phoenix last month, a whole house install that took four days. By day two, my knees felt like they were on fire, even with my old foam pads. I was popping ibuprofen like candy just to get through it. My buddy on site saw me struggling and told me to try his spare pair of gel ones. The difference was instant. I finished that day with zero pain. I bought my own pair that night, the ProKnees Gel Pro model, for about $80. Now I can work a full eight hours without that deep ache setting in. Has anyone else made a switch like this and found a specific brand that really holds up?

That "deep ache" you mentioned is the worst. I used to get it right in the kneecaps after a few hours. I switched to the ToughBuilt gel caps last year and it was a game changer. They don't slide around like my old ones did, and the gel actually feels like it cushions the joint, not just the skin. I've put them through hell on concrete and they haven't split or flattened out yet.

Huh, interesting. I had the total opposite experience with those, @jamiekim, the gel just made my knees sweat and slip more.
