Kicking myself for not trying a power stretcher sooner on stairs

For years I did stairs with just a knee kicker and a lot of swearing. Finally rented a power stretcher from Sunbelt last Friday for $40 and it cut my stair time by half on a 14-step run. The tension was way more consistent too, no ripples at all. I had always heard old-timers say power stretchers were overkill for stairs. But honestly that little hydraulic arm saved my knees and my back. Anybody else switch tools and feel dumb for waiting so long?

The $40 rental sold me too, I was dead wrong about power stretchers.

That carpet stretching kit I got for $40 at Home Depot paid for itself in one job. Did you find that the rental power stretcher actually needed two people to operate it safely or could you manage solo? I had a hell of a time getting the kicker to stay put without my knee going numb, honestly felt like I was fighting that thing more than the carpet.
