Question about the day a 2 inch gap on my stair stringers made me rethink the whole layout method
I spent years cutting stringers with a framing square and stepping off the rise and run one tread at a time, then a helper in Cleveland asked why the top riser never matched the rest, and I'm torn on whether stepping it out or using the calculator and checking total rise first is the better habit, so how do you all lay out stairs without that last tread biting you?
