PSA: I picked a 3/4 inch dado for my cabinet shelves instead of a 1/2 inch rabbet.
The extra depth gave the plywood more support, and I haven't had a single shelf sag in two years. Anyone else have a go-to joint for heavy duty shelving?

Saw a guy use French cleats for a whole garage wall once.

Remember reading a forum post years ago where a guy swore by stopped dados for his record collection. That extra shoulder at the front stopped the vinyl from ever tipping forward, which was a genius fix for a specific weight problem. Sometimes the best trick is just blocking the back of the groove.
