My finish nailer jammed on the last piece of a $1,200 trim job in Boise
Halfway through nailing up the shoe mold in a Boise flip last month, my 15 gauge finish nailer started jamming every third shot and I couldn't finish the last 12 feet of trim before the walkthrough. I pulled the magazine apart on my tailgate and found a bent nail wedged sideways in the track from a box that had been sitting in my truck bed since spring. Ended up driving the rest by hand with a nail set and a hammer, which took way longer but got the job done before the client showed up. Now I keep my nails in a sealed plastic bin instead of loose in a bucket, and I tap the strip flat before every reload. Anyone else had a whole box of nails go bad from sitting in the truck?
