Found my granddad's old wooden level in his workbench this weekend

Was clearing out my uncle's garage after he passed and there it was, a 24 inch mahogany level with the bubble vial still full and the brass edges worn smooth. It got me thinking about how he'd measure twice and cut once on every single job, while I'm out here with a digital laser thing I got for $80 on clearance. Any of you guys still use a wooden level for finish work, or is that just nostalgia talking?

Read somewhere wooden levels stay true longer than most modern ones.
