Watched a 10-minute YouTube video last night and realized I've been formatting my resume completely backwards for 3 years
I was just tossing all my achievements into a block at the bottom like an afterthought, but this guy pointed out recruiters skim the top third of the page in 6 seconds flat. Has anyone else had a small tweak like that suddenly make a huge difference in callbacks?

Format matters way less than having actual experience that matches what they need.

Oh man I used to be all about the perfect resume format. I thought if it wasn't laid out just right with the right fonts and spacing nobody would even look at it. But you're totally right. I've hired people with messy resumes who knew their stuff inside and out, and passed on folks with spotless ones who couldn't answer basic questions. The proof is in what they can actually do, not how fancy the paper looks. What's the worst formatted resume you've seen that actually had a great candidate behind it?
