Rant: My messy attempt at learning guitar highlighted a key work habit

I picked up a guitar a couple of months ago, figuring it would be a fun side thing. Right off the bat, I assumed I could watch a few videos and instantly play songs. My hands would not cooperate, and every chord change sounded awful. After weeks of frustration, I decided to set aside just ten minutes daily to drill the basics. Slowly, things started to click. This whole process mirrored a bad habit I had at my job, where I'd delay reports until the deadline loomed. Shifting to small, consistent efforts on both fronts has cleaned up my workflow and reduced panic. Honestly, treating skill building like a daily chore, not a sprint, is a game changer.

Totally get what @linda626 means about panic fuel, but for me that rush just burned me out. Ngl, shifting from frantic sprints to a steady daily grind made learning stick way better.

What if last-minute panic actually leads to your best work?
