My cardboard fort went from sagging mess to solid castle after I stopped taping the flaps on the outside
I built forts with my kids for like 2 years and they always ended up a floppy pile within a day. Last month I watched a guy on YouTube fold the flaps inward and tape them flat against the inside walls instead of the outside, and it was like night and day. That one change made the whole base rock solid. The outside tape was pulling the flaps apart whenever anyone leaned on it, but inside tape just locks everything into the corner. I did a test with two boxes, one each way, and the inside taped one held 3 times the weight before it caved. My 6 year old sat on the roof of our new fort for a full 10 minutes and nothing moved. Anyway, has anyone else tried taping the inside or is it just me? I feel kinda dumb for not seeing it sooner.
