Hit 50 hours on a single fort build and didn't even notice
Started building a castle fort for my kid's birthday last weekend. Had all these towers and a drawbridge planned out. I got so into cutting windows and taping joints that I looked up and realized I'd been at it for 50 hours over 4 days. My back is killing me but the kid loves it. Anyone else lose track of time like that on a fort project?

My friend Dave got into a similar thing last summer. He built this pirate ship fort for his nephew in his backyard, spent like 60 hours on it over two weeks. He was so focused on carving a little anchor out of scrap wood that he forgot to eat dinner two nights in a row. His wife finally had to drag him inside and make him take a shower because he smelled like glue and sawdust. He still talks about that anchor like it's the best thing he ever made.
