Found the best free date idea after my beach trip got rained out yesterday
Stuck in Portland with 3 hours to kill, I wandered into the Lan Su Chinese Garden and ended up watching a koi feeding demo that was oddly hypnotic, plus it only cost my bus fare since it was a donation day. Anyone else stumble into something random that beat their original plan by a mile?

Koi feeding demo sounds like a corporate team building event, not a date. My last rainout date ended up at a laundromat with a broken vending machine. Still got coffee after, so I guess it worked out. You got lucky with the donation day thing though. Most free dates in Portland are just standing in a Powell's aisle pretending to read.
