Appreciation post: my buddy Ray talked me out of feeling guilty about empty nights
Last Friday my evening class got called off about an hour before it started, and I was honestly kind of annoyed since I'd already paid for this 6 week session. My buddy Ray asked why I looked so put out and I said I felt weird just going home and doing nothing, and he goes 'dude, free night, that's a gift, not a problem.' Something about hearing it from him at his kitchen table in Tucson stuck with me more than all the times I've told myself the same thing. So now I'm curious, what's your go to move when a plan dies last minute and you've got a whole open evening?
