Warning: That crawl space under the old house on Elm Street was a nightmare.

Last Tuesday, I had to run a line through a space filled with old insulation and animal droppings. The heat was over 90 degrees and I was in there for two hours. My fish tape got stuck three separate times on rusty nails. Anyone else ever find a job that just makes you want to go home and shower for an hour?

Ugh, that sounds absolutely miserable. Did you at least find anything weird or interesting buried in all that mess, or was it just pure awful from start to finish?

Honestly, the only "treasure" I found was a new allergy to dust from 1978. I pulled out what I thought was a weird fossil, but it was just a petrified mouse nest. The real prize was getting fiberglass in places fiberglass should never, ever be. That shower felt less like cleaning up and more like a decontamination ritual.
