Cheap coax stripper beats the $90 brand name I carried for 4 years

Swapped my fancy coax stripper for a $12 one from the hardware store in Little Rock and it cuts way cleaner on RG6, no more nicked braid. The cheap jaws just grab tighter and the blade angle works better for my fat fingers. Anyone else ditch the expensive tools and found the budget stuff does the job fine?

Bought a $15 stripper off the shelf in Memphis last year and it’s been a beast on every RG6 I’ve thrown at it, no stripped braid once. Why do we shell out for the fancy names when the cheap jaws just do it better?

And the fancy ones strip the same cable jacket, just cost four times as much. My cheap one has a spring that still snaps back after a year of daily use. The only difference I can see is the name stamped on the handle. If it cuts clean and doesn't eat the braid, I'm not paying for a label.
