Dado stack wobble ruined my first custom pantry build
Built a 5 foot pantry cabinet for a client in Columbus last month. Used my old Freud dado stack, the one I've had since 2019. Mid-cut on the second shelf, the whole thing started chattering and left these ugly ridges in the dados. Turns out the arbor nut was loose, I never checked it after switching blades. Client saw the shelves before I could sand them down. Had to scrap all three shelves and redo them with plywood I had to order overnight, cost me $180 extra and a full Saturday. Now I torque the nut with a wrench every single time, no more hand tightening. Anyone else had a wobble from a loose arbor nut that they caught too late?
