That $60 boning knife I bought was a total waste

Picked up a cheap curved boning knife from a restaurant supply store thinking it'd be fine for breaking down chickens. Thing lost its edge after 5 birds and the handle feels like it's gonna crack. Anyone got a solid mid-range brand that lasts more than a week?

Honestly check out Dexter Russell or Victorinox, those hold up way better for the price.

Oh man, that's frustrating! I've been there myself. I grabbed a cheap boning knife from a discount store once and it was dull after just a couple chickens too. What worked for me was switching to a Victorinox Fibrox. I've had mine for two years now and it still holds a decent edge through plenty of birds and roasts. The handle is comfy and hasn't cracked at all, even after all that use. Really solid choice for the price.
