The week the office printer ate my entire Q4 budget
Last Tuesday our main copier jammed so bad it took down our entire operations team for a day. I had to call a repair guy from Chicago who charged $400 just to walk in the door. On the flip side, that forced us to switch to a digital workflow we'd been putting off for two years. So which side wins - short term chaos or long term efficiency?

$400 for a walk-in? That repair guy must have laughed all the way back to Chicago. I get that the digital switch was a silver lining, but losing a full day of work and a chunk of your budget isn't long term efficiency, it's just expensive damage control.

Man, I gotta ask @the_barbara - how did you even find that repair guy? Was it a referral or did you just roll the dice on some random number? Because paying $400 for a walk-in feels like you got taken for a ride, no offense. My buddy had a similar issue with his old furnace and the first guy quoted him $500 just to show up. He called two more places and got it done for $250 flat. Next time, don't settle for the first number they throw at you.
