Shoutout to the old paper invoice system I finally ditched

Ran my small shop in Tacoma for 8 years with paper invoices and a big filing cabinet. Switched to a cheap digital app last year to save time. Thought it would be a simple upgrade. The weird part? My payment times got slower, not faster. Clients who used to pay cash on the spot started asking for emailed copies and then taking weeks. Learned that the physical paper was a subtle prompt to settle up right then. The app was $15 a month but cost me in cash flow. Anyone else see a step back when they tried to modernize a simple process?
